New Edition of the Competition!

This year, you can once again take part in the international secondary school art competition Máš umelecké črevo? and try your hand at teamwork on a year-long project.

The theme of this year’s edition is IDOL. In today’s fast-paced and turbulent times, when anyone and anything can be called into question within a minute, several questions arise: What role do different idols play in today’s world? How can we understand the current rejection of historical idols and the debates about their significance in history? What does it mean to have an idol? Can an ordinary person also be an idol? What role in history was played by those who captivated the masses, who were charismatic leaders, skilled manipulators, dictators or modern-day gods? What is their significance for the functioning of society, thinking and values in different spheres of life? What is the position of art in relation to idols? Does visual culture still contribute to the creation of cults? Let’s think about it together!
